| "Just The Crust" Review By: Len StoneWall Society Taken directly from the liquid Pie website: "Liquid Pie is a group of musicians who have vastly different musical backgrounds. The variety and diversity of influences and experiences have a combined chemistry that is stylistically fearless and unmistakably Liquid Pie." And there is no better way to give a just description to this fun and entertaining group. Gorgeous harmonies, cool accompaniment, and lively subjects make for an unforgettable listen. Five tracks offer a sweet taste of things to come. From track one, "Man On The Mountain" you are in awe of the balance and unique sound that is Liquid Pie. Followed by a lively island sound, track two: "Two True Blue" is an upbeat tune which becomes quickly familiar as you find yourself humming along. Track Three: "Haunting A Faith" has just that a haunting sound with lyrical melodies and again those wonderful harmonies. My particular favorite track four: "If You Want Me For My Money" is a romp complete with kazoo and sing-a-long classic style. Great fun and I am sure a live show stopper. Rounding out "Just The Crust" track five: "Let The Pages Fly" has a fairytale quality feel with soft vocals and those unmistakable "Liquid Pie" harmony jewels you come to expect and are justly rewarded. A fast track to the replay list, "Just The Crust" leaves you wanting more. Liquid Pie has succeeded in creating a wanting and waiting audience. As the members are diverse in interests and influences, the overall effect is one which flavors the sound of Liquid Pie with a mark of individuality. |
