     Performer, composer and multi-instrumentalist Robert Urban was born and raised in Fairfield County, CT. He began performing in rock bands, stage plays & musical theater as a young adolescent... and never stopped. He received a B.S. Degree in Philosophy and Music (cum laude) from the University of Bridgeport. While at school he won the University's concerto competition on flute, appeared as guest conductor of the Yale and Fairfield University Orchestras and toured the U.S. under a special scholarship as a singer with the Boston Opera under Sarah Cauldwell.
     As a session guitarist, arranger, recording engineer and producer, he has contributed to the projects of many other musical artists and theatrical organizations. Robert has composed music scores for a variety of films.
Robert is the author of "Abominations" - a book of published poetic writings. His poem "Fable" won the STONEWALL SOCIETY 2003 PRIDE IN THE LITERARY ARTS AWARD. He is also a successful artistic/commercial photographer. His work has been exhibited in art galleries throughout New York City, including the West Side Arts Coalition, the Organization of Independent Artists, The Leslie-Lohman Gay Art Foundation and the Multi-Media Arts Gallery. 
     Robert owns and operates his own Manhattan based independent music production facility - 
URBAN PRODUCTIONS

where he produces & records both his own and other artists' music. His work, his songs and his live performances have been featured on Manhattan Cable Television. 
     There are four Robert Urban CDs available - the 1997 critically acclaimed "godless", the millenium year 200) release ELEGIES, the 1980's retrospective who i was (also released in 2000) and the new 2003 Robert Urban CD, ROCK WIDOW. He is the recipient of numerous music acheivement awards
  Robert lives with his partner of over 14 years - NYC restauranteur Morgan Humphries. They have two cats - Pinhead and Nestor.
